What is the new site that offers free background checks for free?
I saw a commercial for free background check. I can’t remember the site though. Can someone give me the name of it? The commercial talks about doing a check before you go out with someone & even doing one on yourself for free. I don’t know how long the free offer will last. I thought the site was www.getverified.com, but I am not sure. I remember at the end of the site it said /tv154 or something like that. I would really appreciate any help.
I have spent the last year and a half researching and testing background check services for a consumer review site (http://www.CompleteReviews.net ) and in that time have run tons of background checks using many different companies. I think you may be referring to beenverified.com as they offer a "free trial". After that you are automatically billed. I have not tested them out yet personally but am in the process of doing so. Just make sure that you cancel before the free trial period ends!
Trust me, there isn’t one. Any that do offer a free check will also require you to sign up for a service. Think of those ads for "free" credit reports – only free if you sign up for their service.
The closest you’ll get to a free check is Google. You’d be surprised what you can find with it. Otherwise, use a reputable site like intellius. Sure, it’ll cost a few bucks, but there’s no hidden cost and you won’t keep getting billed every month after trying to cancel your subscription.
